Castles of Hambach, Schwetzingen and Heidelberg

The German Organizing Committee has the honour to invite you to attend the XXIth International Symposium on Virus and Virus-like Diseases of Temperate Fruit Crops and XIIth International Symposium of Small Fruit Virus Diseases held in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany between July 5 and 10, 2009.

The Symposium is dedicated to the diverse fields of plant virology, viroids and phytoplasmas. The different sessions of the symposium will cover applied and basic plant virus, viroid and phytoplasma research and provide an opportunity to plant virologists to exchange knowledge and to develop co-operations.

The Symposium will be held in the historical Saalbau close to the city center of Neustadt which offers a lot of historical sights including the Hambach castle which is said to be the cradle of German democracy.

A special mid-meeting tour is planned which will include a trip through the lovely region of the Rhine-Neckar valley including the famouns Heidelberg Castle as well as a conference dinner at the historical castle of Schwetzingen.

The first anouncement will be made available on the symposium web site. Registrations, abstract submissions, hotel bookings and other arrangements will be accepted on–line through this web site. Therefore, it will be regularly updated to bring you further details about scientific and social programmes, travel, accommodation and other news.
