Invitation

Castles of Hambach, Schwetzingen and Heidelberg

The German Organizing Committee has the honour to invite you to attend the XXIst International Symposium on Virus and Virus-like Diseases of Temperate Fruit Crops and XIIth International Symposium on Small Fruit Virus Diseases held in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany between July 5 and 10, 2009.
The Symposium is dedicated to the diverse fields of plant virology, viroids and phytoplasmas. The different sessions of the symposium will cover applied and basic plant virus, viroid and phytoplasma research and provide an opportunity for plant virologists to exchange knowledge, to develop co-operative research, renew old acquaintances and make new ones.
The Symposium will be held in the historical Saalbau Convention Centre, near to the city of Neustadt which offers many historical sights, including the Hambach Castle which is said to be the cradle of German democracy
A special mid-meeting tour is planned which will include a trip through the lovely region of the Rhine-Neckar valley including the famous Heidelberg Castle as well as a conference dinner at the historical castle of Schwetzingen.
The first announcement will be made available on the symposium web site. Registrations, abstract submissions, hotel bookings and other arrangements will be accepted on–line through this web site. Therefore, it will be updated regularly to bring you further details about scientific and social programmes, travel, accommodation and other news.
We look forward to welcoming you in south western Germany in July 2009.
